First Responder Accommodation – Thargomindah 2025
Following severe flooding in Thargomindah, Queensland, thl was engaged by a state government agency to provide rapid emergency accommodation for government staff and contractors supporting damage assessment and clean‑up activities. Within four days of the initial enquiry, we mobilised and delivered 30 fully self‑contained motorhomes to the remote community—over 1,000km west of Brisbane—despite road closures and access constraints. The response included charter flights, 30 drivers, GPS‑tracked convoy movements, and close coordination with on‑site stakeholders to ensure safe and timely delivery.
The motorhomes provided private, apartment‑style accommodation with kitchens, bathrooms, climate control and hotel‑quality linen, enabling workers to remain close to critical recovery operations while minimising pressure on damaged local infrastructure. The deployment remained in place for six weeks, during which thl delivered ongoing operational support, including on‑site servicing, flexible extensions and alternate collection arrangements as recovery timelines evolved. The successful delivery and sustained operation of all vehicles demonstrated the effectiveness of mobile accommodation as a fast, scalable solution for disaster response in remote Australian communities
Emergency Housing – Thargomindah 2025
We supplied temporary caravan accommodation supporting communities affected by extreme weather, including deployments linked to Thargomindah flood recovery. Under this partnership, thl maintained 10 caravans deployed in Thargomindah, supplied under dedicated hire arrangements for temporary accommodation to provide safe, self‑contained shelter where local housing capacity was constrained.
As recovery needs continued, thl supported ongoing extensions to keep accommodation in place for as long as required, coordinating the contract administration and maintaining continuity with lead contractor.
Disaster Relief – Lismore Floods, NSW 2022-23
In response to the severe floods in the Lismore area of Northern NSW in March 2022, we collaborated with the NSW Government to provide temporary accommodation for flood-affected families. Within 48 hours of initial contact, we deployed more than 100 motorhomes and caravans to the region in partnership with NSW Rural Fire Service, who provided volunteer members to drive the fleet.
The motorhomes were stationed in the region’s caravan parks and served as fully equipped and self-contained units. They offered essential amenities such as sleeping quarters, kitchen facilities and bathrooms, providing viable temporary housing solutions for displaced families, and added to other methods used to house residents. Some motorhomes stayed on-site for 12 months.
Healthcare Support – Wilcannia, NSW
Wilcannia, a small town in far west New South Wales, faced challenges in providing safe isolation options for its residents during the COVID-19 outbreak. With limited isolation facilities, the community struggled to contain the spread of the virus and ensure the safety of its residents during isolation. In response, we arranged motorhomes to be delivered that were use d as isolation hubs.
These motorhomes were set up at the showground and served as temporary accommodation for close contacts of COVID-19 cases. Equipped with essential amenities such as heating, cooling, living and bedroom accommodations, kitchen facilities, toilets, showers, and entertainment options, the motorhomes provided comfortable and functional living spaces for those in quarantine.
We worked closely with NSW Health, the Central Darling Shire Council, and various government agencies to establish this "base camp" at the showground. This base camp included personnel from NSW Health, NSW Police, the Australian Defence Force, Aboriginal Affairs, and other organizations.
Remote Worker Accommodation – 2026
A leading engineering and construction firm was contracted by the South Australian government to deliver a significant regional infrastructure project along the Nullarbor Plain. To accommodate the project's workforce in this remote location, our client utilised a fleet of motorhomes to serve as temporary living quarters for workers.
The motorhomes allowed the workforce to be easily relocated as the construction progressed along the Nullarbor for the two-month duration of the project. Rather than building a permanent work camp, the motorhomes could simply be driven to the next worksite, enabling greater agility and responsiveness. The motorhomes provided workers with comfortable, self-contained living spaces complete with all the essential amenities.
Film Industry Support – Netflix: Desert King Northern Territory 2022
We worked with a Netflix production company on their filming of Desert King series – with most filming occurring through rural Northern Territory. Our motorhomes provided accommodation support and green rooms for actors for the duration of their production.
Utilising our reach across multiple brands, we provided a fleet of vehicles to accommodate workers and act as green rooms for actors. Desert King appreciated the range of options and flexibility in rental availability.
